Symptoms of weak immune system
Our immunity is essential for our survival. Without immunity, our bodies would be exposed to bacteria, viruses, parasites, and more. Our immune system protects us from these germs and keeps us healthy.
No matter how smart our immune system is, it is not perfect. Sometimes the immune system doesn’t work properly and we get sick.
There are many signs that the immune system is weak. Below are some of the notable symptoms of a weak immune system:
Diarrhea:
If you have diarrhea for more than 2 to 4 weeks, it is a warning message that your immune system is weak. Excessive constipation is also a concern.
Mild fever:
If the body temperature is higher than normal, it may be that our immune system is weak. It can be caused by any infections.
Unexplained fatigue:
Feeling very tired without any reason means something is happening with our body’s immune system.
Pain in bone joints:
When the inner lining of our bone joints becomes swollen, the area around it can become swollen and painful, and this can happen with multiple joints. This may be due to weak immunity.
Excess hair fall:
Sometimes the hair follicles are weak due to poor immunity. If excess hair falls out of your scalp, you may have a condition called alopecia areata which is a sign of a weak immune system.
Sensitive to the sun:
People with autoimmune disorders are sometimes allergic to ultraviolet (UV) rays, also known as photodermatitis.
Poor immunity can cause rashes, chills, headaches, or nausea after being in the sun.
Abnormal weight change:
Unusual weight changes may occur due to poor immunity even if the diet does not change. This is possible because of the damage to your thyroid gland from autoimmune disease.
Numbness of hands and feet:
Our body can attack the nerves that send signals to the muscles due to weak immunity. For example, people with Guillain-Barr syndrome may have numbness in their legs.
This is why numbness in the hands and feet is a sign of weak immunity.
