Natural Ways to Improve Eyesight

Nowadays we spend most of our day on mobile or laptop screens. Also, we watch favorite shows on TV for a long time throughout the day. As a result of all these things create pressure on our eyes.

Many of us are relying on glasses at a young age. That is why it is so important to have good eyesight. That’s why we need to know how to keep good eyesight.

Get enough sleep:

Less sleep is bad enough for the eyes. Any doctor will advise you to get enough sleep for your well-being. Get enough sleep or close your eyes and rest for a while.

It is very good for the eyes. Especially if you work on the computer or have a habit of reading books, give your eyes ample rest.

Proper use of light:

Reading and other activities should not be done in low light or intense light to keep the eyes well. You should not sit in a dark room and watch a mobile or watch TV.

This causes damage to our eyes. Open all the windows and doors of the house during the day. So that daylight can enter the room. This will keep our eyesight good.

Try to see green:

Try to see green with two eyes. Sit in the middle of the green for a while. Those who live in the city have less of this opportunity. So they can plant trees on the balcony.

Get enough vitamins and minerals:

Vitamins “A”, “C” and “E” as well as zinc, contain antioxidants that can help prevent macular degeneration.

These vitamins and minerals we can get from a variety of colorful vegetables and fruits. Such as carrots, red peppers, broccoli, spinach, sweet potatoes, and lemons, etc.

Carotene rich foods:

There are a few more important nutrients to improve eyesight. These include lutein and xanthine, carotenoids found in the retina of the eye.

Green leafy vegetables, broccoli and eggs are sources of lutein and xanthine.

These carotenoids (lutein and xanthine) help protect the macula by absorbing ultraviolet and blue light in the eye.

Keep weight under control:

We can maintain good eyesight by exercising and maintaining a healthy weight. This is because not exercising and being overweight can damage the tiny blood vessels in the eye.

Do eye exercises:

Follow 20-20-20 rules to keep good eyesight. The muscles that control the eyes get tired while looking at the skin continuously.

To avoid this, you have to look outside once every 20 minutes. Look at something approximately 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.

This is what the doctor called the 20-20-20 rule. This means that every 20 minutes you have to spend 20 seconds to see what is happening 20 feet away.

Quit smoking:

Smoking is harmful to our lungs and heart. Besides, it is harmful to our skin, hair, and eyes. Smoking increases the risk of developing cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.

So if you want to keep good eyesight, you have to quit smoking.

Blink more:

Blink more and more while working. The eyelids normally fall 12 to 14 times per minute. But when we look at the computer’s monitor, the rate of blinking is much lower.

This is why the tears of computer users cannot spread properly to the cornea and conjunctiva on the surface of the eyes. The tears evaporate quickly, causing the eyes to become dry.

That is why it burns the eyes and causes pain in the eyes. So to keep good eyesight, move the eyelids 10 times every 20 minutes.

If you have eye problems, consult a doctor immediately. If you have an eye disease, you have to go to the doctor according to the time.

Even if you do not have the disease, it is very important to see an ophthalmologist twice a year. Do not neglect this work.
